When should I replace my roof?
While some types of damage can be effectively repaired, major damage to your roof will likely call for complete replacement. However, this is not the only time you’ll want to consider replacing your roof. Some signs that it’s time for roof replacement include water damage, mold or moss growth, curling or buckling shingles, a sagging roof, and missing components, like singles, granules, tiles, flashing, or gutter guards. Additionally, if your roof is nearing the end of its manufacturer-recommended lifespan (typically around the 20-year mark), it might be a good idea to consider replacing your roof. This is especially true if you plan on selling your home or commercial property.
-
How long will my roof last?
In general, a properly constructed and installed shingle or tile roof will last about 25 – 35 years. However, there are many factors that contribute to the overall expected lifespan of your roof, including the materials used, weather conditions, the degree of wear and tear, and whether or not the roof was installed correctly. If you are not sure how old your roof is, you can request an inspection from a licensed professional, like those at Mars Services. Get in touch with us today to learn more.

Restoration & Remediation
-
How much do professional restoration services cost? The cost of professional restoration and remediation services depends on a variety of factors, including the type, scope, and severity of the damage and whether there are any unique challenges or needs present. We provide fixed rates and work within your budget, even offering several payment plans for both residential and commercial customers.
-
What is the fire/water damage restoration process?Although every situation is different, and each unique disaster requires a personalized approach to restoration, we follow the same general process for most fire, smoke, and water damage restorations. First, we assess the damage and develop a customized restoration and remediation plan. Next, we take immediate steps to prevent further damage, such as covering roofs with tarps, boarding up the building, or removing excess freestanding water. Once these initial safety measures have been carried out, our team begins the actual process of repairing damage and restoring your property to its pre-disaster state. This process will look different depending on various factors, including the type, extent, and scope of the damage. In most cases, we complete the process by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the space, finishing outstanding repairs, and handling any other details needed to return your home or business to how it was before the damage-causing event occurred.

Plumbing
-
What’s the difference between a traditional water heater and a tankless water heater?A traditional water heater has a large tank, usually capable of holding about 20 to 80 gallons of water, where water is heated and stored for use. Traditional models constantly heat water to allow hot water throughout your home or business. Tankless water heaters, on the other hand, are much more energy-efficient. Rather than heating and storing water, tankless water heaters heat water on demand, meaning you have instant hot water whenever you need it. Because they are tankless, these models are also smaller, meaning they take up less space in your home. However, they are not always ideal for large families, multifamily homes, and businesses, which may need access to considerable amounts of hot water. Our team at Mars Services can help you understand the pros and cons of traditional water heaters vs. tankless options and find the best solution for your residential or commercial property.

Carpet Cleaning
-
How long should I stay off carpets after a professional cleaning?Generally speaking, we recommend that you refrain from walking across carpets for a minimum of six hours after they have been professionally cleaned. You should also keep children and pets off carpets for at least six hours after a professional cleaning. If you absolutely must walk on your carpets, wait at least 30 minutes after professional cleaning is complete before removing shoes and walking across carpets with clean, white socks.
-
How much does professional carpet cleaning cost?Although professional carpet cleaning is an expense, it is far less than what you would pay to completely replace your carpets. At Mars Services, we prioritize fair and transparent pricing. The exact cost of your service will depend on several factors, including the square footage of the space. We can walk through our pricing structure with you before beginning any service, and we provide fixed rates based on the quality of service we provide. We also offer several payment plans and discount pricing for members.
-
How often should my carpets be professionally cleaned? We recommend that you have your home’s carpets professionally cleaned about once every 6 to 12 months, depending on various factors. If you have pets, children, or high-traffic areas of your home, it may be beneficial to have professional carpet cleaning more often. For businesses and other commercial carpet cleaning needs, we recommend scheduling professional cleaning services about once every 3 to 6 months.

HVAC
-
When should I schedule professional HVAC services? If you’re experiencing a significant issue with your heating and cooling system—such as a heater that won’t turn on or an air conditioner that only blows hot air—it’s time to call the pros. However, you shouldn’t wait until something goes wrong to schedule professional HVAC service. With routine maintenance services, you can increase the performance, energy efficiency, and longevity of your HVAC equipment, as well as solve minor issues before they develop into something bigger. We recommend scheduling regular HVAC services with a professional, like the team at Mars Services, two to four times per year depending on your usage and other factors.
-
When should I replace my HVAC system’s air filters? Most experts recommend replacing HVAC system air filters about once every three months. However, the frequency at which you’ll need to replace your air filters depends on how often you use your HVAC equipment. If you use your heater or air conditioner regularly, you may benefit from changing out the filters every month. Dirty filters lead to poor performance and lower indoor air quality, which can be hazardous to your health and the health of your family.
-
How often should heating and cooling equipment be serviced? You should schedule routine HVAC service at least twice a year—once in spring and once in fall. By having your heating and cooling systems serviced before the hottest and coldest times of the year, you can ensure peak performance all season long.

Termite Control
-
How is Termidor applied? The technician will dig 2×4 inch trench around the soiled areas of your home. Small holes will be drilled every 18 inches on the concrete areas around the home and will foam all plumbing exclusions inside the wall voids of the home. Treatment can take 2-4 hours to complete depending on the size of your home.
-
Does Termidor have/leave an odor? No, Termidor is odor-free.
-
How long does Termidor last once applied?Time and again, Termidor is proven to have staying power. Termidor binds to the soil, so there’s no leaching through rainfall or irrigation. Numerous government and other tests in the US and abroad have shown that in 7 years, there has been no break or reduction in Termidor’s effectiveness.
-
How fast will Termidor work once applied properly? In every test, Termidor has achieved 100% control of termites within three months or less. That’s significantly faster than termite bait/monitoring systems, which typically take 6 to 18 months to control termites.
-
What termite product does Mars Pest Control use?
Most termiticides are repellents, which means they keep termites away from a treated area, rather than killing them. These repellent termiticides also kill termites. However, since the termites are repelled when they come in contact or just before actually contracting pyrethroid-treated soil, the ‘killing power’ is less dramatic and if anyone took the time to count dead termites. less efficient. Termidor is non-repellent. Termites can’t detect it. Since they don’t know it’s there, they forage freely in a treated area.
Termidor, like other leading liquid termiticides, is lethal to termites when they ingest it (which they do readily since they don’t know it’s there). But, unlike all other termiticides, Termidor is lethal by contact as well. Once a termite comes into contact with Termidor, they carry it back to the colony on their bodies. Every other termite it contacts will itself become a carrier, contacting and infecting others. This is known as “The Transfer Effect”.
Termidor controls Formosan and subterranean termites, the two most destructive species in the United States, which account for 80% of the $2.5 billion in annual destruction to homes and buildings.
